I couldn't find a thread for spider pictures in OT Gallery, so here goes:

Black-and-Yellow Garden Spider (Argiope Aurantia) on Flickr-- I just learned what this one was, now that there's one with a web between our back deck and the clothes line. This photo was taken, fairly perversely, with Panasonic G1 and an old Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm macro zoom.

Hmm--it says "this photo is currently unavailable." Is Flickr hiccuping again?

There's a reason there wasn't a thread *shiver*

Dunno if it's hiccupping or playing silly buggers.

Web Orb spider living in a bush next to the parking area at the end of the Battle Mountain course.  He wasn't at home this year; his best mate Georgi said he'd gone off into the desert chasing lady spiders.

Spiders from the back garden. Sunny Sunday 2nd October. Okay, they aren't perfectly in focus, but could I still my shaking hand?!! I blame the macro setting and no tripod.

Certainly never seen cycling south of Sussex

I think that this is Riggers's spider on hols in The Cotswolds.
It is simpler than it looks.
