Also banned for drink driving in 2011. Other than his inability to drive whilst not pissed, he's a great ambassador for sport...

I don't think he has an inability to control his drink. More like an inability to control when he drives!

I thought the programme he made about racism in football a couple of years ago was good and I know he's done lots of other Good Things...

On Christmas Day he was admitted as an in-patient to a psychiatric unit in Harrogate before his release last Friday.
He said he had reached "an epiphany" that he is "incredibly unwell".
"I ventured out of my room not as Clarke the ex-footballer, but as Clarke, a mental health patient," he said.
"That was the first step in my road to recovery."

sounds like he's making a good fist of it and hopefully some good will come of this for other people.

The stigma attached to mental illness is frequently a barrier preventing people from getting help.
