Mrs G is watching it avidly.  I get to watch the tour highlight and she gets to watch that.  Those are the house rules at present.

I have seen quite a bit in between walking through the front room, working at the kitchen table and delivering cups of tea.

I think the portrayal of being deaf is pretty good. We met the actress last week, considering this is her first role, I think it is pretty impressive.

We were thinking - watching it - that it would be very hard for a hearing actress to 'do' a deaf person well. The 'accent' must be tough, given that it is entirely due to the hearing impairment.

Whatever, she's very good. Only watched Ep1 so far (and the PVR lost Ep2 !).

Why the ';)' ?

She was "born deaf" to quote the press ahead of transmission. Whether she has had the controversial (to some) coclea implant as well I don't know.

She hasn't and she can hear a bit, she does have hearing aids.  She lip reads generally.

I saw a fascinating thing last week. A (largely) lip-reading person talking to someone on a full burka.

Speaking to someone wearing a burka and having a hearing loss makes one realise just how much is picked up by lipreading.

Mrs G thought the ending was rubbish.

And they were saying

"I am sorry but I can't make out a word...you will have to take that that stupid medievalist sack off your head"

It was really good all the way through.  You can guess what happened, but really she wanted to KNOW.  She wanted them to get caught, to know how Amelia was etc.  Did he die?  etc.
