That's frikking ridiculous, they've practically doubled the gap between the triangles.  >:(

The 400g pack is allegedly now 360g so 'only' 10% lighter. Looks VERY toothless for this! I suspect Cunning Plan to INCREASE portion sizes as there will be considerably fewer portions per pack.

In other news, (or rather oldish news) Mondelēz shrunk 'Terry's' Chocolate Oranges by a similar amount recently.https://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=61324.msg2071961#msg2071961

I see the TOBLERONE lettering is still one letter per peak but now starts on the very first section. Didn't there use to be an unlettered section at each end?

I never had one in my hands long enough to read it.

They won't want to change all the packaging machinery for a shorter/squatter bar (all they've got to do is modify the printing of the weight on the carton blanks) so changing the mould is the simplest/cheapest thing to do. Not sure if this is "Brexit" related, but I assume so as the main ingredient will likely be priced is $US

They're changing the name to Tobler Ohne.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

I saw the BBC item earlier, so I nipped into B+M at lunchtime to get one of the old model.
FAIL - they have been updated already.

I wonder if they did this quite a while ago and people have only just noticed.
I posted about the chocolate oranges months ago (27/8/2016), which was when the early Christmas stocks were appearing.
I would have made sense to trim the Toblerone at the same time.

I haven't opened the boxes yet.

I think they've just shrunk the circumference.

They need to shrink the circumference/radius by less than 4% to achieve their 11.5% shrinkage.

I'm happy about the Toblerone change, it's limited to the UK, and it's very much a brexit special.

Of course, once we've triggered article 50, and negotiated deals with the chocolate world, I'm sure May and Davis will get us much bigger Toblerones for the same price.

The new Toblerone is democracy in action. Actions have consequences.

Euro bollocks has lead to this. Their climate change lies mean smaller mountains.

I'm for bigger mountains. Vote ME and you will totally get bigger mountains. Like totally. It's what we do.

My vote means more chocolate. More Farage.

The Toblerone thing is naughty because it's a way to keep the triangular box the same attractively large* size.  Benugo do the same thing with their wraps; they look massive but when you open the packaging you find the two halves have been cunningly arranged so that there is about an inch of air space between them.

*if anyone actually buys Toblerones other than as crappy gifts from airport duty-free shops.

Hershey bars disprove the idea that Americans know anything about food.
Probably second to Herriot-Watt's seafood linguine in revolting things I have tried to eat.

Hershey's extra dark chocolate is acceptable. On some days it actually tastes quite good. Not "good" using Belgian chocolate as a comparison but certainly "good" when using something like Cadbury's as a reference point.

Hershey's regular milk chocolate is lame lame lame. Tolerable for use when making s'mores (largely on the basis that a stale sweet cracker and an overtoasted marshmallow would render the use of decent chocolate criminally wasteful) but not suitable for much else. Except perhaps giving to the scruffs who come calling on Halloween, as a means of suggesting they aren't really welcome but less aggressively than handing out red onions rolled in bhut jolokia powder and then covered in caramel.
