Home made 'bents
« on: 09 March, 2017, 07:07:25 pm »
Have been offered a home made recumbent needing work.  It has been outside for a while....

Is it a good idea to fettle it to life or pass it to someone that has the storage and the time?

as with any bike, I'd say it depends on your fettling competence, but bear in mind that there may be non-standard problems vs an upwrong

And depending on what flavour of 'home made', it might not actually be a very good design even when in fine fettle.

Pictures?
A lot depends on the design and construction whether it's a good idea to spend time and effort on it or not...

Gattopardo emailed me a photo, but I wasn't sure if I should share it.

Nevertheless, the bike has just popped up on eBay:  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112334760148

That's a DutchSpeed kit from the early '00s.

You can still download the instruction manual here: renekmueller.com/DL/DUTCH_instruc_man_GAKS2_2.9Uk.pdf
