Syringe and needle for non-medical use
« on: 25 March, 2017, 11:10:17 am »
I've bought some plastic syringes (5ml, 10ml, 20ml) but haven't received them yet.

I think I could use them as is, for oil, solvent, glue etc. But I might get some needles for finer work, do needles come with a standard fitting? I was thinking of something like these, will they fit?

The ones in the second photo look like the ones. I use syringes and occasionally needles at work.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is...

Either will fit.

There is a standard push fit taper on all the needles. Some syringes also have screw lock. The plastic mouldings on the back of the needle are equivalent to the far more expensive metal ones.

You can get blunt needles in lots of diameters and lengths.

As above, they all have standard Luer push-fit or screw fit sizes.

Needles are sized in SWG, the same as spokes and old English knitting needles.

25 is 0.5mm
21 is 0.8mm
