First 400 achieved

Just clocked up my first 400 with 438km of Easter Arrow. Crossed the Lincolnshire Wolds twice and managed every hill. Used lowest gears but span away and crested even the hills I thought I'd be walking as they ramped up.  Next stop a 600 in May all being well. Loving the comfort over distance, which was its major driver. No aches and pains or numbness.

New bike? Do tell.
My first 400 was Severn Across during which I enjoyed five minutes rest lying on a wet pavement in the rain somewhere near Slough. I think that was the moment when the glamour of audax entered my soul.
Besides, it wouldn't be audacious if success were guaranteed.

First Recumbent. I got it in November and started riding it out on the roads in December after practice runs on the cycle ways. I'm not new to the distance or Audax on road bike, but am new to the distance on recumbent. The complete lack of comfort issues during and after the ride is enlightening.

That's fantastic. I have a Nazca Paseo, not the lightest bike but very comfortable and doesn't feel like 41lbs (double racks, mudguards and kickstand included).

Sounds like you have well and truly seen the light - nice going.

Yes having a great time recumbent and legs stopped aching on 300 two weeks ago. Another 300 this weekend coming, then a break from long distance before the 600 next month.
