Great photos and I'm glad Helen's arm isn't too badly hurt.

On a less serious note I am delighted my new Altura Nightvision top is so super reflective!  I hope it didn't damage your camera (for those that weren't there I am the orange thing bent over his machine in the foreground of Andrew's final photo).

In keeping with tradition here's a picture of my dinner.  Meat and potato pie with chips and mushy peas.  Very tasty and washed down with a pint of mild!

Oops sorry, I have taken steps to restore the aforementioned rider's anonymity  ;D

It should be noted that I am not a born and bred southern larger drinking fairy.  I'm from Northern and Midlands stock although one eighth of me is Irish.  Not sure which eighth.

Thanks again for a smashing evening

Yes, great evening out. The array of lights was indeed impressive, in particular AndrewBr astride his Ford RS2000 rally car-bike.

OD, you may have eaten it, but remember that was MY meat and potato pie.

I wish!  Yesterday morning I had arranged a breakfast meeting with two prospective customers who had flown over from Belfast.  When they turned up they didn't want breakfast as they weren't hungry  ::-)  So out of politeness I dipped out as well and ended up famished!

OD, you may have eaten it, but remember that was MY meat and potato pie.

Cold comfort I know but you've unwittingly added yourself to growing list of forumites who have been (innocently) robbed of food by me.  The list comprises of you, Huggy and clarion.

You come up here stealing our meals and then, next day, you're denied one yourself ?
I'd say that's karma  ;)

Greetings all you Mancunians!

Once again, although plans can change at the last minute, I will be in your neck of the woods on the evening of Monday 1st December.  Does anyone fancy meeting up for a spin, bite to eat and a couple of pints?  I shall bringing my Ribble Audax / Winter trainer but I'm not adverse to a bit of light comedy off-roading.  I ain't bothered by hills or bad weather either.

I'm staying at the Old Trafford Premier Inn (Sir Alex Ferguson Way, Trafford Park, M17 1WS) and assuming my drive up goes according to plan should be ready to get awheel by 7pm.

Anyone fancy it?

I should be up for this.
I'm going to check if the Vale Cottage will be serving food and, if so, we'll go there along the Fallowfield Loop.
It's only a short ride (about 20 miles round trip) and it's very flat and off-road.
It'll also be very, very dark in places.

Hotel at 19.00, outside Bar in ChorltonCH (very near the tram stop) at 19.20.

Anyone else interested ?

By the way, Facebook suggested I send a friend request to a cyclist whose full name was not dissimilar to your forum name - so I did!

I should be good for this, Mondays are usually free for me. Will confirm nearer the time, I'd be starting from the Chorlton stop, if that makes sense.
Ps OD, you may wish to change the date on the thread title.

Ever dedicated, I rode out to the Vale Cottage yesterday to see what time they serve food until during the week; 20.30.
That's good because it gives us 90 minutes to ride 10 miles along a flat route.
While I was there, I thought it would be good to test the beer.
It was excellent but (dedication again) I decided to try a second just to be sure.
It was to the same standard.

I'm looking forward to this.

Top banana and well done. Let's just hope my customer doesn't decide to postpone or cancel our meeting as I'm looking forward to this event as well.

Great news Si.
I vote that we do this even if OD can't make it  ;D

ETA: bring big lights, it'll be pitch dark on parts of the FLoop.

I can confirm Si has 'big lights'. His handlebar setup looks like a bicycle crashed into Johnny 5!  :o

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.
