Topeak Road Morph Mounting Bracket
« on: 08 February, 2013, 11:01:05 am »
Does anyone know if the side mount bracket TPD-2C will work with a Road Morph and if so where it can be purchased?

I have tried contacting Topeak directly and I can't get a response, the above isn't clear from their website and my various online searches are giving mixed signals.

This is the style of bracket that allows both pump and bottle cage to be attached together. I can find lots of the other Topeak sidemounts for sale but not this version.

I think I've squeezed my road morph into a Pocket-rocket side cage mount before. I'll check if my memory is correct when I get home tonight)

Otherwise I know it fitted in an old B-twin pump mount which is a simple plastic side clip arrangement. It's a bit wider than most pumps so I'd imagine most brackets that use slightly springing the plastic for mounting should work.

Otherwise you can just tie the pump to the top tube using the normal mount and cable ties like I had on my last tourer: -

For future reference, this also works with the Blackburn side clip mount I had for my (old) airstik (the current version of the airstik looks a lot different, so I don't know if the current mounts would also work).  I have the Blackburn mounts on two of my bikes and the official road-morph one under the top tube on my other bike, and move the pump around as necessary.

For future reference, I've always found the Topeak distributors http://www.extrauk.co.uk/product/cats/Topeak/all/ really helpful with Topeak spares.
And, yes, most mini-pump brackets will work, but be sure you have a velcro strap too.
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

I'll confirm this too, I've done the same!

The part we are all looking is TMMB-2C.  I have e-mailed Topeak (Extra (UK) Ltd.  I will let you know if I get a response.

Resurrecting an old thread, because I'd also like to mount my Road Morph using the bottle cage mount but without taking a bottle cage space over.

I bought one of these, thinking it would fit. It's too wide, though. :( I also tried a Blackburn Airstik SL, which also didn't fit.

Can anyone recommend a mount which will definitely fit a Road Morph? It seems really odd that they're readily available for other Topeak pumps, but seemingly not this one...

You need the Blackburn Air Stick Mini Pump side clip for a Topeak Road Morphe.

Not all Air Stick pumps are the same ...   :D

anyone had any luck finding a Blackburn Air Stick Mini Pump side clip or another bottle cage brackets that fits the road morph?

Edit: Does anyone know if the airstick SL http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/blackburn-blackburn-airstik-sl-clip-and-strap-prod21161/ or airstick two-stage clip would work http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/blackburn-blackburn-airstik-2-stage-clip-and-strap-prod21162/?

The SL definitely doesn't fit - tried that and had to return it. I've pretty much given up on finding a suitable mount now and am using the top tube one, which I really don't like. :-\ If anyone has tried the airstick two-stage, I'd be interested to know.

I'm using a Blackburn MTB pump mount with mine on the Dawes. It is a bit wider than the road morph, but the two rubber rings hold the pump fine. I can't remember the model but I bought it with the pump from my LBS. Might be able to identify the pump when I get home on Saturday.

The pump I got was a Blackburn Mountain Anyvalve (I needed a pump to go in my rucksack on the MTB anyway). The mount has two rubber restraints on it so holds the road morph well. I've just used this arrangement over the roads and Rough stuff of the Coast and Castles route without any problems: -

Sadly, they only seem to list the TRP-3C, which is the standard (inline, so loses ability to fit a bottle cage) bracket. I wonder whether Topeak have discontinued the side mounted version? ???

I think this is the Blackburn mount I've got
http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/blackburn-blackburn-mammoth-2-stage-clip-and-strap-prod21163/

The holder is actually a bit wider than the road morph, but it clips in tightly when you clip round the hose

Finally, I have tracked down the elusive Blackburn Airstik mount!

I bought a couple from this Ebay listing: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301058819919?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

They arrived today, and I can confirm they do indeed fit the Road Morph, in case anyone else is in need of one.
