I have been rummaging around in the archives looking for Witham peloton route for tomorrow evening and I have found THIS GEM (not that Jem) from December 2015.  Not only will it be easy to rendezvous with Tomsk we can also scoop Josser up as well 

Any voices of dissent?

That's a good excuse to be out on the bike then and not have to hide indoors with the lights off pretending no one is in when little gits angels/demons come knocking on the door expecting sweets to be thrown at them.

Take a closer look. On the return journey he has you taking the 'wrong' turning off the roundabout across the Great Leighs Bypass, and through a 'forest' to get back on track. There's also an 'out and back' at Willows Green.

But perhaps that is less gratuitous than usual?

I believe so. Despite the chortling peloton leaving me all alone, misty eyed and stranded in the cold, dark night, I managed to repair my crankset and make it home.
