BN - I got burgled last night.  Bastards let themselves in the front door, picked up my [empty] wallet, my watch and a kitbag full of yesterdays dirty rowing kit, let themselves into the garage and out the garage door, taking a bike with them.

GN - they took my shittest bike, the one i havent ridden in over a year that was hanging on the wall above all my other bikes, all of which I'd miss more than that one

If anyone sees a large on-one inbred with a badly fitted 8-speed alfine hub and pretty average handbuilt wheels (ahem) on ebay - let me know and I won't bid on it!

(bit gutted about my watch....  Insurance will cover it but I've had it a long time and loved it)

I know that feeling.   I hope that your plod are infinitely better than our plod were.   Fecking useless would be a generous description of the "waste of taxpayer's money that couldn't be arsed to even send a bod round" here.

Hope that you get everything sorted soonest.

Good news ,  my new Shimano MT91 boots have arrived from Chain Reaction
Bad news, the Time ATAC cleats I ordered haven't arrived.

Possibly more bad news,  I ordered the boots a size bigger than normal, but with 1 pair of winter socks on they are a touch on the snug side.

Sounds like a job for Anrdij OTP.  The translating, not the cleaning.

Using only Google translate, I managed to procure a Dutch electrical contractor, and engage him to supply and fit 5 x floodlights to illuminate a banner belonging to the fruit-based computer manufacturer from Cupertino, on the side of a retail shed in Groningen.
It was an exceptionally lengthy process, but that wasn't down to language differences....
If there was any surprise on my part it was that I was dealing with a Dutchman who wasn't a polyglot.

FWIW, it doesn't like Ukranian as much as it does Dutchian, and is happy to tell you.

GN is I really can't be arsed to moan about it, because I leave this place in July....

GN: I have a long weekend free, a new map and 11 pieces of green and orange cardboard.
BN: Failing to get round to finding places to stay, so far only have the first night sorted.
GN: This might just "have" to turn into camping.
BN: The bad news is really rather contrived, isn't it?

Update:

Good news - The Cambridge police have been brilliant.  They've found the bloke with my bike (and five others which didnt fit him) and he's already been in court and is being detained.  They've given me regular updates and have all been really nice people.  Top marks.

bad news - they havent found my watch and I still dont like the bike :)
