Barebones Backpacking 200km

Some of you will have met my mate Tom on the Delightful Dales or the Old 240. It's far to say, we don't hang about (we were back on the Old 240 around 1am, before anyone was back from the Not Quite the Spurn Head). Still, he would admit, he's been pretty tired at the end of both events we've done together.

He only went and won what is probably the hardest UK 200km MTB endurance event by 1h40m.

I think some audaxers need to get MTBs and enter some of these "MTB endurance" events.

...there were a couple of other audaxers on the BB200. Lurking right at the very back.

A great a event. Sadistic in parts, but good fun in retrospect. Highly recommended.
I had a chance encounter with a comfy bed which slowed my progress somewhat.

I'd love to, but I dare not. PBP preparations has me loosing serious husband & father points.
I've promised that I'll retire after August (temporarily of course).

If it is, he's kept it quiet from me. He's doing his first SR season, and as far as I know, that's all he has on.

You can do a route at any time. If you join the barebones forum, there are often group rides on those courses. I know a Peak 200 and a Borders 350 ride are planned.

Thanks for the info, looks like some fun rides.  I've also dug out BMBO.org.uk as I used to do a fair bit of that sort of riding before I had a road/audax bike.  Am now thinking about the OMM this year, which also looks like fun
