Just seen the 3D version. Not sure if there is a 2D one, but I think the 3D worked very well, with only a few occasions when it was obvious.
What a film. Beautifully filmed, and thought provoking. Some glorious visual scenes, making Avatar look like a fun fair Pick n Mix display. Richard Parker was a star.
Obviously tr 2nd story is the correct one, but the Japanese would rather have a Bengal Tiger surviving than lots of murders and canibalism). The tiger is Pi's evil, which appears after the humans have been killed off. The Orang outang is his mum, the zebra the sailor. His evil slinks away into the forest when he reaches dry land. Well, that's what we thought, anyway.
