Ouch. That hurt
« on: 17 April, 2008, 11:12:28 am »
First off for ages.

Looking forward to picking the scabs that these beauties should produce.

Also have some bonzer graves on arm, elbow and hip.

Most troubling injury is to my left heel though.  Can't put any weight on it without a lot of pain.  Not sure exactly how I damaged it  :-\

So not wearing mitts then?

Hope everything heals quickly.

I had gloves on not 20 minutes beforehand.  Took them off as my hands were getting very sweaty.  :-[  Bugger!

Ouch that looks really nasty.

The foot injury may be severe soft tissue damage, it can take weeks to heal.  It may be worth having the foot looked at though just to make sure you haven't done anything really nasty to the bones.  Bear in mind that some soft tissue injuries take longer to mend then damage to bones.

Have a huggle

Ow ow OW!
Have you tried the spray-on skin/bandage stuff for the wounds on your palms? Very handy (hah! geddit!) for weeping wounds on places that don't take bandages well.

I once said to my son.  "Look, I don't wish to know if you occasionally ride without items of safety apparell, but don't ever, EVER ride without gloves."

We were talking about his motorbike.

Bad luck Bobmick.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Heel is much less painful this evening but I'm already tempted to pick at the scabs forming on hand, elbow and hip.  Must ... resist

How I wish I'd put up with sweaty hands and left the gloves on :(

Mmm, meaty!
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Ouch, bad luck.  When I first started cycling I never wore gloves or mitts, and then had the occasional off where I ended up with palms like that.  I always try and wear at least track mitts these days, and miss them when I forget to put them on (or they're soaking wet), something just feels odd, then I realise that my hands are in direct contact with the handlebars!  Sod's Law then kicks in of course... :-\
Actually, it is rocket science.
