Breakfast, BBQ and beer - what's not to like, especially as it's fewer miles from home than there are pounds in the entry fee?

Sounds fab. I may have to enter.

Hmmm. *subcribes to thread*
Besides, it wouldn't be audacious if success were guaranteed.

Even more hmmmm.
*reads this bit*
" a warm Audax Club Hackney welcome outside Corpus Christi in the ancient city of Cambridge. Lovely choice of cafe venues in Puckeridge and then whiz back for an all inclusive Audax Club Hackney barbeque at ACH HQ. Seasonal menu is based on the local Turkish styles which are typical of this particular part of North London. Items on offer will include fresh dressed salads, Turkish bread, rice and bulgar wheat and lamb/chicken kebabs as well as the normal barbecue offerings. And also... wait for it... free beer tokens for the Stags Head"
*adds event to his audax calendar.*
Besides, it wouldn't be audacious if success were guaranteed.

After mucho trials and tribulations, with 4 different chutneys & sauces and four different cheeses, the Audax Club Hackney burger is designed:

Wildest venison burger
Plain white bap (mmm my favorite) flipped & slightly toasted
Caramelised red onions
Brie
Mushrooms
Tomato & Chili Chutney

Burgers sound tasty, so much in fact that I may sign up. Where exactly does the ride kick off from? I have to plan getting there!

And entered. Looks like I will be lazily getting the train to Waterloo then cycling over unless some people from West London (Wimbledon etc) are cycling up together.

Ride kicks off from Harringay Rd (just over the border from Hackney)  If you google 'The Salisbury Hotel' - my house is 20-pedal revolutions door-to-door.

Thinking of doing this especially as I was born in the fine borough of Hackney and lived there for years. Plus like the Audax hackney kit. Would depend on how I get on in 3 reservoirs in July

im specifically building a new bike just for this event so I can be a total hipster and hang out with my "crew" in Lundun town innit!

Just got my new fixie sorted totes for realsies:

(actually, I might do this fixed - but on a pooh brown bike, or, if things are ahead of schedule, an orange one)
Right! What's next?

Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea.  I am in!

I haven't quite understood what is a hipster. Is Audax Club Hackney a club with hipsters innit?

I know hipsters have beards, ride fixie bikes and listen to music only hipsters know about.

Is Jonah actually the King of hipsters? And this event actually a covert hipster rally?  :D

My parents-in-law live on Harringay Rd about 25 pedal revolutions from the Salisbury. Think I may have to sign up.

Not much chance of a SMIDSY on that, I should think.
Why should anybody steal a watch when they can steal a bicycle?
