British Chess Championships
« on: 24 July, 2010, 04:05:50 pm »
These take place at the University of Kent, Canterbury, from 25th July to 7th August.

I might just have a pootle in that direction and see what's going on. Haven't been to one for about 8 years. Canterbury's a good place if the chess isn't exciting enough.

The British Championship itself is an 11-round event starting on Monday 26th and finishing on Sat 7th. Each round starts at 2.15 and could last until 9.15. (40 moves in 2 hours each, 20 moves in 1 hour each and then 30 minutes each for all remaining moves). Other events take place at different times. Junior Championship usually take place during the mornings.
