Somewhat older than many others taken from us this year, but leaves us with a fantastic oeuvre, creating and sustaining a new form of theatre, while maintaining, celebrating, and gently mocking his own cultural traditions.
I once heard him described as 'A man who thinks out loud', and I believe that, with such plays as Chicken Soup With Barley, we feel the internal conflicts he was experiencing.
A great loss to theatre.
