Traumazone

Appears on iplayer in a fortnight. 9 part series by Adam Curtis on Russia during the period that spanned the fall of the Soviet Union. Cue loads of utterly bonkers archive footage from the cutting room floor.

Watched Kleo on Netflix, 2 episodes to go. This is really, really good - funny and in the same vein as Killing Eve.

Not sure if it is on the UK Netflix (it's a German series) but well worth watching if you can.

Not tonight but the third series of the Beeb’s adaptation of “His Dark Materials” starts on December 18th.  Wretched USAnians are getting it the thick end of a fortnight earlier  >:(

That was good. Pretty true to life for a TV series but I'm not sure why they needed to invent the French spy love interest for Stirling, didn't really add anything.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

This evening I watched a programme about orgasms. It was a bit of an anticlimax.

Not tonight, but it'll be on iPlayer - both the first series (the one on scaffolding was the best!) and this - "How To" with John Wilson, BBC2 Fridays

Premature, given the thread title, but I wouldn't want any fans to miss Detectorists on Boxing Day, 9pm BBC 2. A one-off Christmas special, not the start of a new series, sadly,

I am v excited about the final series of Happy Valley. The first two are currently on BBC iPlayer and I highly recommend a wee binge. Top writing (Sally Wainwright, duh) and acting (Sarah Lancashire, James Norton et al).

There should be an episode of The Cleaner containing Greg Davies on at some point in the festivities too.

I tried really hard to like this, but found it way over the top, with dodgy colour corrections( and very poor FX).
Also Dominic West will always be Jim McNulty.

I binge watched His Dark Materials.  They did pretty well with the special effects, although there was a fair bit of padding to get some action sequences in.  The books are pretty flawed in plot terms so I can't blame the adaptation, but the revelation that

is dropped in pretty abruptly to give the required melancholy ending.
