Julie Burchill, Rod Liddle, Ash Shakar, and a late appearance by Owen Jones. God save us. It's the seven dwarves of intellect. No, I doubt they can count either.

I've never understood what everyone sees in Jones.  He's a second rate journalist whose political acumen has developed little beyond student politics.  I know he's gay and writes for the Guardian - but that doesn't make you a great thinker or champion of the Left.  He's closer to Mandelson than Mandela...

Jones is something of a political weathervane, changing stance as is expedient. His behaviour in that respect when it came to Corbyn/Corbynism resulted in colleagues at the Guardian calling him "Squealer", after the propagandist in Animal Farm.  ;D

I have to admit I've given up reading his column.

Tobias " allowing families to meet over Christmas for five days "could be very dangerous indeed " Ewood.

Funny how there is always a reason to justify a tory breaking the rules.  Eye tests, interview with a journalist, checking that the country pile is ok, gleaning useful information, ...

All Ewood does is remind us how there is one rule for us and one rule for them.

He does like a bandwagon. Got totally behind Corbyn for a while but has long since jumped that ship. I think his main shortcoming is not having any original ideas. But he is industrious, which counts for a lot in his game - the rate he churns out books should at least keep him comfortable in retirement.

Truss.

She and her fellow fascist ideologists do not want to understand equality.  Equality is about giving people the same opportunities, not giving them favour.  If young white males don't take their opportunities that is unfortunate, if black, disabled, female, religious, gay etc. people are not even given the opportunity, how can they ever take it?

What she said was in effect, white lives matter.

More than a mere super twat, much much more.

Indeed, and Ash Shakur is pretty much anti-everything without really being anti. I find them as tedious as each other, regardless of the team they play for (basically right vs left contrarian) as they spat on Twitter. Is it news that Rod Liddle or Julie Burchill write something stupid – it's how they get paid. It all seems a bit tediously incestuous, they write something stupid, they others leap to the contrarian position. Tweets over the battlements!

Just. Fuck. Off. None of it interesting or witty. If you're going to write an offensive twat piece be a fucking AA Gill and a not Rod Liddle. At least be interestingly offensive. And the left, just dull, dull, dull. They are perpetual danger of writing something that will offend themselves. Not of it really makes you think: well you might have a point. It'd being contrary for the sake of it.

We can include Toby Young, the self-styled Lozza, the barmy haired Suzanne Moore, the stern fringed feminists of the Guardian comments, the perpetually wrong JHB and so many more. I reckon there are far more than seven intellectual dwarves in play. Scrolling back through this thread, I think we're actually watching the Stupid Olympics.

I find Marina Hyde and John Crace amusing. Marina doesn't shy away from digging the knife in.

Oh, I much enjoy Hyde and Crace, but they can write and have something acid to say. Liddle's dull attempts at being edgy are ludicrous (he next week's column he'll be telling everyone how he fucked a hedgehog – oh just stop it, you boring twat, your right hand would refuse to give you a wank and your left would claim it has a headache). The weird persistence of Burchill, she wasn't very good to start off with, and I think she's been writing the what is essentially the same shit article for the last thirty years. Jones is the annoying guy you tried not to know at university, the one with the subscription to Socialist Worker who always turned up at your parties even though no one ever invited him.

If leading Panzers down Whitehall wasn’t contraindicated in these Time of Plague we of the Democratic Ruthless Bastards Party would e'en now being enacting legislation* to have Tory-Sewer quarantined on her return.  Our scientists have been instructed to believe that at least fifteen years would be required.

Nay, lad, you underestimate the virulence.

Find out the likely remaining lifespan for the Heartless Bruiser, add fifteen years to allow for errors, then double it. That's the quarantine period.

When she used to write a column for the Guardian Weekend , I always used to turn to that page first, and look at the bottom right.

Blessed were the Saturdays when I saw the magic words, "Julie Burchill is away."

Burchill is the target of Morrissey's most memorable pieces of invective in his wankathon "Autobiography".  Ok, being insulted by Morrissey is a bit like Laurence Fox calling you a racist twat, but it was certainly to the point.

Tory Buffoon Sir Desmond Swayne, who was on the Today programme this morning criticising what he called "the health lobby" for advising the government that infection rates were rising too quickly for the south-east to be able to cope with five days of partying over Xmas.

He was also peddling the ludicrous conspiracy theory that the announcement of the stricter measures was deliberately delayed until after Parliament had gone into recess so that people like him wouldn't get the chance to give the medical data their expert scrutiny and vote on them.

I suspect Desmond Swyne is another one of those arsewits, like Iain Dunkedin-Shit, who blithely votes for any old crap without bothering to read it and then complains bitterly when the results are not what they expected.

Fuck me, that's a spectacular screw up. Surely even minions on the lower sub decks of the Home Office know that commenting about on going trials is a big no no, let alone the Home Secretary. Shouldn't she get the sack? (Today's rhetorical question)
