Breakfast on Pluto
Excellent film

Did you recognise Brian Ferry?

I didnt. When I saw the film I was in bed kind of semi watching at 2am on a Sunday morning :-[
I have a copy on dvd which I will watch again soon and look for him  :)
Tis a top film btw
He has a cameo as the slimy creep that tries to strangle the main character.

I find it quite moving for the portrayal of non-violent courage.  Rare in films.

We sat down as a family and watched Stardust this evening. What a treat! A truly magical film, and very funny. It's rare to see a film that works so well for the whole family - I don't mean like Shrek, which has sly grown-up jokes that go over the heads of kids, but jokes that both parents and kids can appreciate equally.

Brilliant cameo by Mark Williams as the human-goat.

I really enjoyed it. Serkis plays really great part as Ian Dury and his vocals are excellent.

Micmacs, which is directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet who also directed Amélie and A Very Long Engagement. Micmacs was good fun and funny in parts, but I doubt I'll be rewatching it, unlike Amélie and A Very Long Engagement. The main character, Dany Boon, gives some good acting.

I've not seen a new film in ages, apart from being sidetracked by borrowing a DVD boxset of The Wire from a friend I'm catching up on a load of stuff I've been wanting to watch for ages and has only recently been issued on DVD. Last one was Patrick Keiller's Robinson in Space.

TWFKAML, Mr. Sunshine and I saw Män som hatar kvinnor, better known to BRITONS as The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo on Saturday.  I am most pleased to report it to be æxcellent.  With such a fat book they had to leave out or change a few things, but none was any great loss or annoyance.  Practically all the stuff to do with Millennium magazine has been canned, as has Blomkvist's wife & daughter, and he is no longer portrayed as a rampaging fuck-beast which TWFKAML maintains to be no bad thing.  You may, however, find the rape scene somewhat disturbing - one punter sitting in the same row as us walked out at this point.

I trust we will not have to wait another year for one, or more, of the sequels this time >:(

Cheers for the review, Mr. Larrington. I shall attempt to see this film sooon. Shame that Blomkvist is no longer shown as a rampaging fuck-beast because that part of his character interested me.

Moon.

Ver' good.  Parallels to Silent Running and 2001 are obvious.  Gerty rocks.  :)
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Watch GwtDT on Fri, with MrsCharly. As she finds the lead char rather hot, she decided to dress suitably, in knee-high New Rocks, corset and fishnets. Rather disappointing that none of the rest of the audience joined in the spirit of it.

good film. They've obviously decided to sideline Blomkvist as a character and concentrate on Lisbeth. Very little about her was left out.
