De Ja Vu on BBC3 last night.  Pretty dull, though Denzel Washington gave good integrity, as he always does.

And how did you find the plot?

It seemed like I'd seen it somewhere before...

Gilda. Completely melodramatic, but Rita Hayworth is great.

Silent Movie.  How have I managed to never see this film before?!  Not the best of Mel's films, but thoroughly entertaining in the usual silly way.
;D  Andrij.  I pronounce you Complete and Utter GIT

Do you mean that like Zoidburg you also saw 2012? Or did you see the recent Spanish film that's known in its original language as Yo Tambien?

Dukes of Hazard.

Well i only made it to the first ad break before I gave up and deleted it.

I liked the show as a kid, but the movie just felt wrong and was rubbish.

Edge of Darkness. Gibson & Winstone.  It's too long since I've seen the Bob Peck BBC series.  I thought MG was pretty good in this adaptation, but RW just didn't seem that 'believable' in his role.  Dialogue was physically quite hard to hear at times.  I thought in general - OK, some good moments; but must watch the original again.

The Losers.

Had it's moments I supose but it was aimed at the wrong audience and dumbed down from the source material.

Bicycle Thieves as part of the BFF (and a wedding anniversary treat).

Depressing but excellent film.   Little actor (Enzo something) aged 7 who went on to become a maths teacher - what a star!  The chap who played his dad was brilliant too; I gather he was a lathe operator and, some years later when he was laid off, he went back to acting.

Martyrs, a horror film.

A grim experience, very well done.

And The Counterfeiters-about Jews who were forced to make forged British banknotes in the knowledge that they were aiding the Axis powers, the last scene is fantastic.

I can't remember, nor am I sad enough to check thru umpty ump pages of posts, if I mentioned The Men Who Stare at Goats . . .

On DVD check the extras and see the man that Jeff Bridges based his character on - scary. So much of it is factual. Worth buying for the scene where Kevin Spacey is off his face on LSD.

Not much is making me smile at the moment but this did.

I saw this film first time round, shortly after being made redundent. Cheered me up no end*!

K-Pax is another Spacey (sic) winner.

Edit: Apart from the being shot in the head bit, obviously.

Friday night. Saving Private Ryan on one of the 4s.

Never seen it previously. Not what I expected at all. I guess I shouldn't have watched it cos it left me on a real downer all weekend.
