Harry Potter and the Everlasting Franchise.
Gods, that was dull!
Saw it on Saturday. I managed to stay awake for the duration but it's very unevenly paced. Loads of action in the first 20 minutes, then a long dull section interspersed with a few action sequences, then a non-ending. And for a film that's so long and only covers half the book, it's amazing how much detail they managed to leave out.
1 It's more like a collection of loosely linked set pieces than a coherent story, and very much assumes that the viewer will be able to join the dots. Which is true for much of the audience, but that's not the point - it means that if you haven't read the book, the film must be very hard to follow.
I liked the animated shadow play though.

eg they don't explain how the Death Eaters knew how to find them in the cafe - I guess we're supposed to think it's just a coincidence. It's a minor point really, but they've been blithely referring to Voldemort by name throughout the last few films, and then for no apparent reason they revert back to calling him "He Who Must Not Be Named" without explaining why. If they're leaving out detail from the book like that, it would grate less if they just carried on calling him Voldemort.
