Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark
And it would appear that Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is on tonight!  (BBC3 9PM)

Ooh, goody!  I know what I'm doing tonight then, crusty can snore away beside me after his 200k today.

We watched Tamara Drewe last  night, and rather enjoyed it.

They all enjoyed it, much to their surprise.

I see No Country For Old Men is also on tonight, Film 4
Is it worth watching?

I enjoyed it.
I reckon the viewing experience would be improved by the consumption of beer & bridies :)
:hand: We will not be watching No Country For Old Men.
Mrs eck has just informed me that we've already seen it.  ??? :-[
We've just watched P'tang Yang Kipperbang though. That was good.
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

"The Happening"   :o

Hard to tell what's worst about it: the acting the script or the basic idea.  Even the special effects were terrible.  How did guff like this get beyond "the pitch"?

Raiders of the Lost Ark. A bit tedious TBH. I did wonder how they got away with certain scenes; e.g. Jones shooting the scimitar wielding Arab & him torching the snakes, but overall it just felt like the last gasp of an industry that had survived for 50+ years by belittling smaller people.

Camera Buff by Kieslowski tonight might redress the balance.

We're trying "PG" films out on the kids (5yr old BOY and 10 year old girl). We've observed:

5 YOB still hides for all screen kisses (even in Toy Story 3)
10 YOG absorbed the (we hope) positive lessons in "Juno" whilst still enjoying the film. (NB was after 5YOB's bed-time, before anyone rings Social Services)

Indy Jones series on BBC3 recently is too violent for kids; + too violent, racist & misogynistic for entire family (makes me & Mrs g. hide behind sofa + kids walk out of room).

The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus caused brief mayhem, then lingering boredom before being paused permanently in its 16th minute...I think I liked it a bit, though.

the research continues...

"The Empire Strikes Back"

The original version, that is, not the super-duper-mega-Han-shot-first version that George released later as part of his determined effort to piss the remaining goodwill of his fans up the wall.

"The Blues Brothers"  for the nth time.   This time I was struck by the casting: Bobb is Elwood Blues!  Lose the pink hat, Bobb!
