Looks like mating time for Porsches. They're breeding a little TayMac. Or a MacTay if they were in Scotland.

A classic of the "just abandoned" technique.

Handbrake “failure” and drifted across the road having been left approximately where the police car is? Seems to be parked by touch against the wall as if that’s where it came to rest. If not, then that is some seriously impressive parking.   :D

I doubt a car could put much pollution into a Black Country canal that isn't already in there.

Where we live, in a row of cottages in a linear village, there is little off-road parking, and the road itself has no pavements either side. Cottage residents park opposite on what is a filled in ditch (the drainage is in a culvert under) perpendicular to the road. Depth of parking is limited by the hedgerow, and the need to keep the road clear (it's just wide enough for 2 cars.)

Our new neighbours seem oblivious to this need...

Many cars are now too long for a normal parking space (2.4 x 4.8m) and those spaces look shorter than that.  In this case, SUVs are actually better as they tend to be shorter than saloons or estates.

The growing footprint of cars is a big problem, although usually the width is what catches you out.

Yebbut, there’s a metre plus free space behind that car, they’ve been into the boot and just left it. The longer term residents will either nose in to use the boot, or reverse back once finished. Cars have been clipped, usually by rapidly passing couriers - my A4 was left with a nice yellow stripe on the back bumper courtesy of DHL.

I’ve had both Mondeo and A6 here, and with a bit of judicious hedge cutting only a small overhang. My current Ateca SUV fits no problem, as you suggest.

It's a Merc. Case closed.

Presumably a rapidly passing courier will teach them in due course.

The lads towing grain trailers at high speed will sort that out come next harvest.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

It could have flown there with that miniature hang-glider that someone's bolted to the back of it...

I may have posted about this before, but a former line manager managed to get his car astride a small traffic island, while illegally parking on a snowy day, such that all four wheels were off the ground.

Looks to be overlapping with the double yellows.

Would be  a real shame if that was reported.

Yep, shown clearly in another photo along with the model and registration number.  Would be a real shame if someone were to enter all the details twice because the council's webby SCIENCE invites you to log in then throws away the form contents, complete with several photographs, of which only the first is actually stored.

Would also be a shame if someone were to try and get a bike out, or as I suggested to the neighbour, have an accident while trimming the hedge.

Valve cap, gravel. Trouble is it quite likely belongs to someone visiting one of your other neighbours.
