BN: EldestCub's beloved Triban was nicked from the bike stands while he was 10 pin bowling. Poor sod had just put his shiny new Christmas present tyres on the Triban last week, and spent a couple of hundred quid on a new rear wheel and service for it just before Christmas :(
GN: A while ago a very kind forumite donated a mtb to him, which we stuck in storage as it was a squeak to big for him
More GN: Granny Annie had her second cataract op this am, which went well, and my sis dropped the bike off on their way home from the hospital
BN: No saddle, clipless pedals (and he has no suitable shoes) and in need of a service
GN: I found a saddle in the bits box, his Bedstemor sent him some cash which he is going to use to buy some flats, and we've got a workshop slot tomorrow
We could pop some flats in the post?

Thank you :) We're hoping to get him on the road by Monday, if not he's going to have to take my bike to get to college!

GN: I finally got around to replacing the spotlights in my kitchen.
BN: the new ones are a tad fierce, and show up in embarrassing detail how filthy & untidy the kitchen is

BN: Somebody spilled red wine on the carpet last night.
GN: I found an old tin of carpet cleaner lurking in the wash house which seems to have improved it somewhat (or maybe it's just the sun is going down so the stain is harder to see).
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

Dr Beckman's patent carpet cleaner works on red wine (and cat sick, it's primary use in our house). Getting a 'distressed' hardwood floor also helps.

Bad News: Our boiler is on the fritz. We have no heating or hot water. It's OK for Jon - he's in a nice warm office at the hospital. I'm stuck in a cold house, with a grumpy dog, waiting for the gas engineer to arrive.

Good News: The good news is that the gas engineer is Perry... a veritable Adonis of eye candy.

I'm sure I did the if porn movies were real-life post before, but if it were real life, the lady of the drama would spend the day sitting in her lingerie waiting for a tradesman to fail to turn up.

And if he did, he'd not have the appropriate tool and have to promise to come back next week.

The boiler's already fucking? Unusual narrative approach (or so I'm told).

You are right, boilers are most frequently buggered.

GN: I found a higher capacity battery on fleabay at a really good price
GN: Fleabay were having a 10% discount sale
GN: I told the potential buyer about the new battery & he arranged to pick it up
GN: He turned up on time today & paid cash.
