Well, I have just received validation reports from Paul for my 2x200km's DIYs of this weekend, which takes me to 40 points.  It's been a year of firsts for me, I was happy to just do RTYR and was planning on tackling an SR next year (how could anyone ride 300km let alone..600km?!), but it seems to have snowballed with my first SR and now 40@40.

Quite happy    Still got a couple of months left for the round the year, but I'm a bit 'audaxed out' now :D

Regards,

Joergen

For some reason it's been a long struggle this season to get the rides in, but I've just dragged myself over the 40 point finish line with a 400 Perm this weekend to complete another SR.

Just sent 33 points worth of foreign events to the relevant authorities. Add that to my DIY's and winter events and I have more than enough for the 40 points.

If my two DIYs for August are validated, I'll be on 40. Might finish the year on 50 again if the rand 5000 badge has altered.
Bikes are for riding, not cleaning!

Well done Si'. With time in hand and at least one more event in the pipe.
I still have 3 points to go for 70@70 . It may have to be The Dolgellau Dash 8)

This thing ends this month apparently? So my plan to notch up some audaxes in the winter are scuppered and I have to ride 500k this weekend to be 40@40 eligible?

That is the worst excuse for not coming to the drinks in Wimbledon on Friday evening ever.

You think audaxer drinks would stop me riding 500k? You know me better than this.

No, I won't be in Wimbledon for drinks because I'm allergic to tennis. Or, I won't be there because last time I was there a womble attacked me.

It would certainly be good to keep Willesden among the first 5.
Postponing it will of course give us a headstart, after all I'll do a 1200 with a start at october 1st. So you adding a few points directly after that will be a good starter ;).

First 5 on the AUK clublist. Kingston pushed us to 6 after BoB but as far as I can see a few extra ride pushed us in again.

I'm going to do the Silkroute 1200.

I'm only vaguely aware of the individual points thing. Where's the club leaderboard?

Wow, Bristol Hackney and 167 are smashing that. What's the 6-rider thing?

On-topic: entered a 300k. Maybe a Boat Trip perm to finish?

Well I've got 14 which if you say it quickly enough sounds very like 40.... ;) And no I am not planning to ride 2600km in the next 9 days.

I think it was very inconsiderate of AUK not to have been founded on a date that would have made the 40th anniversary a PBP year.

I rode 4000k in 12 days, so 2600 in 9 should be easy :)

What's the 6-rider thing?

Only the points earned by the top-scoring 6 riders in each club count towards the club and CTC trophies: means that clubs with large numbers of audax-riding members don't automatically come out highest.

It was, though, a WAWA year, which (for those that completed in time) brought more than half the 40 points from just the one event.

Yes, that Shermer's neck jockey blew apart my 40 points attempt.

Flatlands is in which gets me to 43....been a good year and I have managed to balance real life/family with it all quite well. Also managed to get my youngest to ride her first 50km which was another goal for the season....it's been an enjoyable year.
