Thanks Steve!

More good news - I rode to work on Milly this morning fully loaded - my first time ever riding a loaded tourer. There was a bit of rattling from the front left pannier, but otherwise great. It floats along. Woolly can fix the rattle this afternoon. :)

And we're off to Wales this evening.

I am so relieved. I was really worried that you were going to get really awful weather and be put off touring. Glad you enjoyed it.

the landlord of our local (the most excellent Red Cow) just phoned to see if I fancied joining him and some of the other village workers from home   skivers  notables  pissheads for lunch tomorrow to say thankyou for our custom since they took over the pub 2 years ago! And he's paying!!

If stories of last year are accurate, I'd better book the afternoon off...

I've got away with a very swollen elbow with a large hole in it.
Also, a grazed and now very stiff hip.

You have a broken forearm and also a broken finger. (He was only in A&E when I got there)  ::-) ;D

Bet you won't be running out into the road again without looking.   ;D

Hope the grazed & stiff bits heal soon.

If you'd been driving a car, that ped would be an ex-ped.

I was doing 18/19MPH. I braced myself for the impact.
It was a helluva thump, sent me cartwheeling down the road a few times.
The worst thing about it all was spending over four hours in A&E.

There was no one on duty to cast him up so he had to go over to another hospital
the other side of the city.  ;D  ;D

My x-rays came back OK.
I managed to get in contact with my gaffa, after it happened.
I'll see how much I've healed by next week, before returning to work.

Some new toys arrived today.  A comfy blow up pillow and a 350ml hip flask, which is now full of Highland Park.  Camping should be comfortable & enjoyable !  :P

I have a Rigida Andra rim to build into a new wheel - when the remaining critical thickness has been chamfered off the existing CR18. That should be fairly soon. Also, a nice new pair of Pearl Izumi gloves was delivered this morning.

It was every bit as good as hoped for - I crawled home at about 7pm and feel bloody awful this morning.

It rained last night.

I enjoyed cycling home in it at about 9pm. Hardly anyone else out on the roads.

I thought about getting the train home, but by the time I'd done the 400 yards to where I'd turn off for Waterloo Station I was soaked through anyway.

I'm interviewing a bloke at 10.30 this morning and the 'recruitment consultant' has just sent me his CV.  It's a guy who used to be a client of ours and he was a right pain in the arse, a really nasty piece of work who created faults in stuff just to get a discount.

I'm looking forward to this one..

A quick FWSE through the sporting pages suggests this a footballing reference m'lud.  It seems the gentlemen of Cambridge Utd thrapped the oiks of Forest Green by seven goals to nil.

I would suggest that Mr. Greenbank is a follower of the Cambridge side and is "over the moon, Brian".
