Next time you make burgers... try putting the cheese inside!

Make the burger mix like you would normally (about a kilo of mince, 1x onion (preferably chopped), several slices of breadcrumbs, 1 or 2 eggs and a good squirt of brown sauce) but make a flatter burger than normal and lay a couple of slices of cheese in the middle, then put another thin burger on top to create a sandwhich type effect. Pinch the edges together and fold the edges back into the burger. Cook for about 12 minutes each side at about 180° and behold as they spray everywhere when you knife them (or don't knife them to avoid lots of mess).

It works with meatballs too but with burgers you do slices, balls you do cubes.

Blue cheese works really well for these.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

I use 3 ingredients in mine. Chopped onion, mince and a big spoonful of horseradish sauce. Whack these in a food processor with the blade fitted and whiz it till it forms a ball of burger mix that you can make into patties. Toast the buns with a thick slice of your favourite cheese on one half and eat!

i've included cheese in a pasta bolognese mix, which goes in the oven. lovely, but jamie oliver would probably disapprove.

Excellent - perfect justification then!

yum yum...

I have been known to put a big spoonful of boeuf bourguignonne in to the centre of a burger. Very good. Just make a cup out of the raw mince. Then spoon in the boeuf bourguignonne then close up the top and shape a bit.
