Given the frequency with which many state "new keyboard please" when something funny comes up, may I suggest that the wipe-kleen nature of the ZX81 has some merit?

And I learnt my computing skills on one.  Then graduated to a Sinclair QL, which has stood me in good stead for the next 20 years, as I still do 68000-series assembly-language programming.   Which keeps various chunks of UK's railways going.
