Lots of sorry looking allotmenteers tramping around the plots, approaching anyone that they can find and asking: "I seem to have grown too many courgettes, would you like some of my spares?". To which the potential recipient replies by pointing to the six hundred and fifty-three courgettes already on their plot and saying "No thanks but could I interest you in some spare cabbages?".
