Ladies and Gentlemen:

From my Twitter feed, I present Boar's Head Chocolate Mint Dessert Hummus...

The Hebrew caption was 'God Save us' but translated as 'name will keep'.

"God help us" would be more appropriate!

It's really not as bad as should be, it just tastes like chocolate spread.

I suspected it might as chickpeas are pretty bland really.
Just seems so weird!

Anyway, who else has seen some 'interesting' offerings?

Aldi have re-wrapped the hollow chocolate bunnies of the apocalypse in their Rudolph foil again.  Not particularly interesting, other than the blatantness of it.

M&S are doing a pork pie with cranberries on the top, so far so standard but then - and this is the genius bit - a pig in blanket perched on top of that.  Seasonal porky heaven !
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

I always keep an eye out for Ecclefechan tarts, much better than your average mince pie.

I think over on Faceache someone commented on a 'pigs in blankets' pizza...

I think it might be hard to source in the UK TBH. All the links I followed were American.

American, eh? No wonder chocolate mint dessert hummus is even a thing, then.

Chocolate mint sounds too healthy. I recommend both the brownie batter and snickerdoodle dessert hummuses to the more discerning palates. If I recall, you can get them in UK Whole Foods Markets.

Snickerdoodle - is that a chocolate and peanut bar shaped like a bichon frise?

Sadly not, more properly it's just a cookie sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. I'd skip the hummus and just eat the cookies, tbh.

Good thinking.

There's a time and a place for cookies, and there's a time and a place for hummus, but not at the same time and place.

Unless you are doing a niche re-booting of the fridge scene from 9 1/2 Weeks... :demon:

Foot long sausage/bacon combo I can see the place for that, but profitercoals FFS?  Heston seems to be on a downcurve these days.

Reminds me of the black burgers that Mcdonalds and Burger King were selling a few years back, and yep, WTAF?:

Boxing Day pie.

Bottom layer is traditional pork filling then a layer of apricots then a layer of chicken.

That was rather splendid. Didn't last until Boxing Day though :(
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

tried this last week, I found it over sweet & didn't taste that much of mince pie. I much prefered the one they did last christmas which I can't remember what it was called but has bits of clementine & a winter spice flavour

Went shopping today, just our normal eatables, I had to hunt for longer cause these crimbo specials have moved the items we normally eat to somewhere else. This is my biggest hate of supermarkets, they fecking move stuff about so I have spend longer in them ...

What I noticed too, the panic people where in, we NEED this and NEED that, parents snapping at kids taking too long to find what parent requested. People stopping dead to look at the new crimbo flavoured X and just grabbing things of the shelves.

Someone said on twitter, if we panic like this for two days off, how is March and April 2019 gonna look.
