All of these statements are true:

"It's not as far as Maunby."

"It's an easier ride back to town."

"It's closer to town for the ride back."

"It does better chips and beer than Maunby."

(actually that last one is both true and honest, which may not be true of the others)

The very thought of it! I am hurt! Oh, ok then I may, sometimes not be totally truthful about the route, but this time I have been explicitily told "NO COR!"

Woohoo!

I'll be on the 17.41, provided I leave work in time and get across town.

Ah, but if we're going to the Fox and Hounds it'd be a shame not to do Foxton Lane...

I have a route in mind, which we have used before, which is a total of 12.5 miles and takes in a ickle climb.

Is that the one from the Saltburn ride? :o

That's it. CL might still have the scars.

Nah.  It didn't actually break the skin - just bruising, that one.  Long gone, and replaced by others.  Currently the best ones are on my knees...

Hmm, it's getting a bit snowy. Wrong bike choice this morning, and I don't really have time to go home and swap. ::-)

It's moved from snowy to rainy over here, so if it keeps moving east then you might be ok

Just had an email from Mrs T, the jist of which went like this:

Mrs T: Are you still going on your bike ride tonight?
ME: Yes, though it may be a abridged version.
Mrs T: Nutter!!!

Hmm, it's heavy now and it seems to be settling. I'll see what the weather's doing at 4.30ish, then make a decision.

Might get the train down. I like the idea of cycling but I don't trust them buggers on four wheels.

Good call, Deano, I have just been out and fitted mud/snow tyres to my Inbred.  I didn't both with the full on winter tyres, just the 2.2 Conti Race Kings.  They seem sure footed enough.  By the time we go out most people will have decided not to drive anywhere anyway :)

I'm thinking 25c slicks probably aren't going to be that great. Definitely going to swap for the hybrid, though I won't have time to fit snow tyres.

Right, so if we are still aiming for the fox and hounds I vote we go the direct route there, but return via Scholla Lane (or vice versa), just to prevent it being too much out and back.

Correct!

To start with I thought it was you misreading "Grange View" which we also pass, but no, you are right, we go past Orange View too!

Right, I'm going to go for it, pending the commute home being ok (might stick to the main roads). Should be there around 18.10.

it'll be reet, as the man said.

I took the Inbred out for a little spin once I had fitted the tyres and it's fine, there is no ice under snow and the snow is the firm type so easy going :)
