[HAMR] 16th January - Teethgrinder Day 162
« on: 16 January, 2016, 10:01:13 am »
He's off at 09:40.  Have a safe day Steve.

Just noticed the title of his Eastward ride on Thursday:

Wind, rain, snow, ice and broken tri bars. What more could I want?

Could that be the reason for the early visit to York city centre yesterday?

Have another good day at the office Steve. Last January on the 16th 190 miles were covered.

Seems he's gone south from Kings Lynn to near Mildenhall, and now heading back towards KL. loops?

Pretty easy miles on a windless day. But A10/A134? Er... no thanks  :hand:

Just seen the BBC forecast: nice dump of snow on Teethgrinder Towers tonight, so he might be better staying in East Anglia where it is merely ice and freezing fog.... or there again...

If the Google trace on the AudaxClubHackney website is correct, he's done 113 miles in 7.5 hours - almost exactly 15mph achieved average. Don't know how long he's spent stopped in that time, but it does look a little better than it has.

I treat this thing the same way I treat an Audax - the clock doesn,t stop, and it doesnt care when Steve stops!
i.e. time stopped is secondary, itsthe overall average that matters, however he achieves it.

Yup, 15mph is a good improvement.

If he can keep that up, then we're looking at around 225 miles in 15 hours. That would be a real step-change in Steve's progress; let's hope he can do it - not just today, but every day.

He's trying to draw something on the map of Norfolk - can you tell what it is yet? :)

Looks nasty in TG country later this evening, with some overnight snow and freezing conditions into the morning.
Not nice at all.
[which might explain why he's currently making a mad dash eastwards!]

Working fine for me. Did one loop from KL down to Thetford Forest and back, then headed down just South of Ely before turning East, currently 5 miles East of Diss.

137 miles (google route) between 9:43 and 20:18. Last update 1 minute ago.

Good call and it appears TG thinks so too.
Shame the wind precluded heading for the Severn Bridge today,it's comparatively mild over here tonight.

Not directly I wouldn't think. Too early and too few miles if he did.

(depends on the weather though, obviously)

Sadly, there is snow over there this evening too, though possibly not as much as MK.

Good call Millimole, and a little out and back wiggle at the end to add 8 or so miles on.
