Garmin Vector 3 + Edge810
« on: 20 January, 2022, 01:48:14 am »
Chain Reaction are currently offering the Vector 3 pedals @ 37% off. I’m tempted but Garmin don’t show my earlier Edge810 as a compatible head unit. Buying a newer Edge as well would make the deal unattractive. Has anyone around here any experience of or gossip about using a Vector3/Edge810 combo?
What's this bottom line for anyway?

Regardless of whether it will work with the 810 I strongly recommend you stay away from the Vector3 pedals. Mine have been utterly unreliable and only caused frustration. Every ride a gamble if it would record power for the entire ride, and/or if the batteries wouldn't suddenly die.

Currently using a Quarq crankset that is in contrast completely reliable.

If you have money burning in your pocket, I really like the Edge 830

comparing Edge 810 vs 830 the 810 should record power, but it's probably too old for the cycling dynamics stuff.

Thanks, I'll empty the basket, this was just an impulse based on a significant discount. Much prefer feedback from trusted sources than other internet reviews.
