That seems just wrong! I don't think I've ever known cherry blossom in February. Snowdrops and crocuses, yes, but not any tree blossom. But then I've never lived in west London!

Bulbs are starting to come up here, but nothing's flowering.

I was riding to work this morning- warm it was- and I thought "I wonder if there's a signs of spring thread starting over at YACF?". A few hours later I spot one.

Daffs'll be out soon then.

But it didn't start - it was just recycled!

We have both coming into bloom in our back garden. The daffs are a long way from flowering.

On the WARTY, I noticed rows of daffodils ready to burst out, and plenty of snowdrops.  Butterfly saw some crocuses about to bloom, but I didn't.
Getting there...

A pair of robins in my garden.
Several pairs of Herons at and near their enormous nests in trees on an island in the Thames at Richmond Surrey.

I have just been for a walk and noted: Purple and yellow crocuses, snowdrops galore, daffodils in bud, lots of trees and bushes in bud, birds singing in a spring like manner and warm sun on my back. Me thinks it has sprung here.

We saw the first in flower on 30th November. It's the first time I've seen them that early, although I first noticed them in December 2004 and every December since. I don't know anything about varieties of snowdrop, but they are still in flower now.

I happened to hear a bit of Archers yesterday in which someone mentioned daffodils in bloom.

About a month too early I reckon.

Plenty of them out round here. Yes - way too early, and frankly a Bit Odd considering there was no sign of them even poking through the ground a month ago.

How odd! I don't think we'll see any daffodils in flower in Southend this month.

First chaffinch in song on this morning's "commute". Was followed about 10 miles further on by the first blackbird I've heard this year.

There's a vast amount of wild arum in leaf on the verges & woodland floors. I don't recall it being so conspicuous in previous years. Is that just a sign of a failing memory?

Oh, I forgot to mention the blackbird Mrs. Wow and I saw last Friday evening. Just after sunset, it was in full-throated ease.

Our grass needs mowing.
It was too wet for our Polish cleaner/gardener lady to do today. She tells me it's -20°C back home and her parents are amazed when she tells them of the open flowers here.

Our grass is at cutting length.

Blackbirds singing - tick
Chaffinches ditto.
Crocuses out - tick
Daffodil buds - tick (not seen any in flower yet).
Flowers starting to peep out on hedges - tick
Rose bush putting out new leaves - tick

The black-headed gulls are beginning to live up to their name.

Three colours of crocus out in the park.

There are some daffodil buds showing (different patch from the ones I looked at yesterday).

Three signs of spring on today's ride to Ryton Gardens (Grow Organic).
Lambs in the field by Ullesthorpe Hotel, shivering rather than gamboling, I think.
Daffodils in full bloom in the grass verge.
Ants running across the floor in the cafe. When I rew these to the waitresses attention, she said they would have to spray them. I trust it will be an organic spray at such an institution.
