I take it “four years” means four seasons? i.e you couldn’t combine a 2023 Easter arrow with a 2019 PBP?

Normally taken as that but ACP have added extra time for their awards to compensate for the C19 restrictions. I can't actually recall whether I have claimed multiyear AUK awards within 4x365 days but over 5 seasons.

I think it's rolling, the claim form includes "date of first event" and "date of last event", also from the R5000 page
Quote
HOW TO EARN THE AWARD :

The rider must complete the qualifying events listed below within a four-year period (to the day) : – a full series of ACP-sanctioned 200, 300, 400, 600, and 1000 km Brevets de Randonneurs Mondiaux,
But regardless, from the acp website

The Audax Club Parisien executive committee decided on June 7, 2021 to take into account the various health protocols that have been applied for over a year. So, the deadline for obtaining this award will be extended by 2 years, but only for those who have approved the 2019 PBP.

Do DIY's could for the Brevet 4000? Tallying all my DIYs and BRMs now, 21x200 in 2022 (so far ;D all DIY),  26 in 2021 (all DIY) and 22 in 2017-2019 (BRM)

I should qualify for a 2nd Brevet 5000, but fall short on the 25k (damn those covid years)
Yes  DIYs doubt exactly the same for all AUK awards

Ah thanks! I guess that means I have enough points for the 25k award after all! The "plus any BR or BRM events" in its description threw me off, I figured this ment only "official" events.

I'll wait until LEL has been processed (that must be a huge job!), then send our kind Recorder an email  :)

pretty sure DIYs come under BR events (unless they are less than 200km , in which case they are BP)

also there is a link to a claim form on this page https://www.audax.uk/results/achievement-awards/brevet-awards/ "claimed" in first para, it's a word template not an online form.

I reviewed my calculations and I'd missed out 2 years of distance in that part.
So I'm the 1300km short of it...
I'm not doing PBP this year, I may just have to drop my first audaxing years 4000km as I forgot to plan in a week off work to have a crack at it. Still I only need another 1300km  on top of the last 5 seasons for that and I'm planning to do Andy Berne's 1000 and it's a reasonably gentle 288km home from Brampton.

Speaking of awards, what's going on with the yearly trophy stuff? My missus and I only rode all those AAA events last year because I promised her trophies! :D

Do AUK no longer do an awards night?

when this was raised at the beginning of the year, there was a suggestion that an awards night would be organised "sometime in the spring, in the southeast"

Nearly June now, so it looks like it might not be happening until the autumn. Which could mean I could a 100points in a season award to my Brevet 25,000.

Personally I think the date of any awards night should be fixed sufficiently far in advance so that people can plan their event dates accordingly (both organisers and riders)

Congrats on your AAA points for last season, amazing effort.

For information purposes, if you've just ridden PBP check your results sheets in relation to AUK brevet awards. You might now be eligible to claim the Brevet 5000/25000 awards:

Brevet 5000: "The B5000 requires a Randonnée of 1200 km or more, a Super Randonneur series, 1000 km, 24 hour team ride, plus other events to a total of 5000 km, all BR or BRM, all ridden within a 4 year period."

Brevet 25000: "The B25000 award requires a Paris-Brest-Paris or London-Edinburgh-London, another event of 1300 km or over, a 1000 km, a 24 hour team ride, three Super-Randonneur series, plus any BR or BRM events to a total of 25,000 km, all ridden within a 6 year period. Events prior to 1991 are not accepted."

I'm not sure whether the AUK results system will automatically identify eligible riders.

the system should identify any single year awards, it will not identify multiple year awards.

Awards can be claimed,

Awards can be claimed,
...via a message to the Recorder.

On the subject of more general AUK Awards, these are currently being posted to the winners from 2020, 2021 and 2022. A Reunion and awards night has not been organised for this year (please don't blame the messenger) and so, to avoid any further delays, that is how they are to be distributed. If you are expecting one and do not receive it by the end of the month please get in touch.

It's a bit disappointing there's no reunion/awards night, Pete.

Are you permitted to say why TPTB decided on that?

I suspect its more a case of not making a decision, no one actually decided awards night should be scrapped, but also TPTB did not decide on a date and venue.

From the limited amount I know I think that's a reasonably accurate assessment.

An Ultra Randonneur award, which I earned in 2021!

Cheers, Pete!

you just get it but you might have to check with the recorder that all of your 10 are properly noted
