They should melt it down and make medals for the team members.
Or something like that.

Dr Beardy (Mrs) has been promoted. Hooray. Not only a pay rise straight away but also a move to the next pay scale so incremental pay rises for a few more years. Double hooray.

about bloody time I say, she's clearly been a senior lecture for a few years now, but the vagaries of academia politics is beyond my understanding.

So a double celebration on Saturday; the anniversary of my entry into this thing we call life and her promotion. Please to be keeping quite on Sunday morning :D:D

It's Dez's too! Are they, perhaps, twins?

I went for a bike ride beyond the station. First time since my failed South Downs Way trip in September. First time on my road bike for over a year. It even felt good.

I phoned up St. Andrews University music department to book a place on their summer school (The Choral Music of J. S. Bach) and nabbed the last place!

The one disadvantage is that I'll miss this year's Dun Run. To make up for it I might just cycle home from Scotland.

A new Aberystwyth/Cardiff bus service started today.  Unlike the old one that went via Lampeter and nowhere near us, this one comes through our village.
Not that I particularly want to go to Cardiff, but it's good to know that I could.
It will certainly make my excursions to Carmarthen a lot simpler.

You always remind me of your dad when you use the term POETS.  Seemed to be a favourite of his.

Have a great weekend, all of you.

I'm told I have a lot of his mannerisms, especially a tendency to hangriness. We're off to play in Thor's cave, jogler used to take me there when I was kid. I can't wait to stand in the cave entrance and shout 'I am Thor', just as excited as I was 30 years ago  ;D

Inspired by me (I like to think), the landlord of my local has bought an e-bike and trailer.  He can now be seen charging around the village with grandson in tow on days when he is baby sitting and pub managing on the same day.

Ramadan is over!  And I've survived my evening commutes in East London unharmed.

I look forward to the quality of motor vehicle operation returning to 'occasionally crappy', rather than the Ramadan standard psychopathic/homicidal.

Been a long time since this thread was active, nobody got any good news?

Having run out of Siopel and it looking like it's unavailable everywhere I was expecting to have to schlep down to the pharmacy to get some Conotrane before we go on holiday.
But while I was doing a purge of the bathroom cabinets I found a new, boxed tube,  which was nice :)

It's the small things....

"Delivery by 9 pm" claimed the Mega-Global Big River Corporation of Seattle, USAnia.  A cheerful man delivered my parcel ten minutes ago.  Fortunately I wasn't in bed.

I am off to sunny, sunny Spain.  Well in February.  Valentines day to be precise.  With Mr LB? Pffft!  No, It's a girls' holiday.  I can't wait, a bit of winter sun will help the winter go by quicker for me.

I have recently commenced what I hope will be a series of correspondence with my music/piano teacher between 1968 and 1972.
