^ Forecast is good for sunday but I don't want to wear new shoes on a "club" run. Especially shiny ones.

Took delivery today of patches and tyre levers as I've got through too many of both this year.
Also a new stem and tape to go with the new bars which are still to come.

...and now the bars are here  (FSA omega compact, nothing too shiny). I wonder how badly wrong swapping them can go?

Did what I should have done before Christmas and ordered a Campag C9 chain to replace my old Campag C9 chain which was very tolerant to being broken and remade using my chain tool.  The replacement Sachs item didn't take kindly to this and snapped this week.

While I was at it I ordered a pair of Krylions to replace the ~6000 mile Gatorskins which have seen better days.

I've designed another casual cycling T-shirt that nods towards a blockbuster movie.

A nice eclectic order from Wiggle;

  • A bottle of Fenwicks Bike Cleaner, which as long as it comes before the weekend will be useful to clean the bike!
  • Some outer brake cable ferrules (I'm missing a couple)
  • A pair of cycling socks
  • Some Cane Creek SCR 5 Brake Levers for n+1, the Singular Peregrine build currently underway
  • An Evolution Mini lock, so I don't have to carry the (very heavy) New York D-Lock around quite so much
  • A dhb Base Layer, which was on sale (a bit), and I'm always looking for long sleeved base layers
Actually, it is rocket science.

9 OS Landranger maps: 50p a shot at the local library

OK, they're nearly 25 years old, but they'll mostly still be relevant, especially in the bits of Scotland and Wales which are about all that remained.  There was nothing within 100 miles of Darlo.

Bought 3 bottles of Muc-off from Halfrauds, not that I have a particularly filthy fleet, but they were reduced to 6.99 a bottle, AND are 3 for 2. BONUS!!!

Since falling 'under the influence' of my mountain biking, *bay splurging, Marzocchi fork collecting, Hope Engineering nutcase colleague I've been spending WAY too much time on tinternet and, as a quincequonce, way, WAY, WAY too much on bike bitz.

Last month I got: 3 chainsets, bars 'n stem. Wheels, cassettes, grips, and (most shamefully of all) a Fox RL shock  ::-)

Not to mention a splurge at Screwfix for M5 & M6 cap screws in A2 stainless

I didn't buy it today, but it arrived, an M:Part CO2 inflator.

Simon gave me one, and a heap of cartridges, to carry and use on the last FNRttC, and it worked a treat.  It's dead simple, but also screws on to both the cartridge and the valve, which I like.  I intensely dislike things that rely on a push fit, which invariably doesn't bloody well work when you most need it too.

It's small, lightweight, and does what it says on the box.
