Title: Treating a new frame?
Post by: Jakob on 03 April, 2008, 12:51:51 pm
So, in a week and a bit, my new frame arrive and I was wondering about how to best treat & protect it?
I'm not too worried about rust, but is it worth applying something like Pedros Bike Lust from the beginning?.

[Swiss Tony] You know, you should treat a new bicycle like you're making love to a beautiful woman. Make sure you're adjusted into the correct position, have used satisfactory lubrication, and tweaked the nipples. The matter of wearing protection is up to you [Swiss Tony]

If this is a steel frame with paint,  then I would spray some anti-rust treatment inside the tubes and apply some car polish, and apparently new paint can be fragile and chip easily.
