The pads are pretty new but the front lever comes back too far for my liking. Is there anyway to adjust the reach/pull on these ?
thanks

if it hasn't always been like that, probably the brake just needs bleeding. Or the caliper alignment isn't very good (which can make the brake feel like crap with new pads, until they wear to match the crap caliper alignment).
However there is an adjustment screw (p62 here)

Thanks brucey but for the life of me I cannot see any such adjustment screw on mine. :-(
I will need to try to bleed it.

I'm going to have a look at my levers as i have the same problem. (Edit) Pulled cover back and can't seem to locate screw either.

apologies; the manual I linked to above covers several models and they are not all the same; the adjustment screw is certainly fitted to ST-RS685 but (I presume) not to ST-RS505. So bleeding is your best option.
