Reacted badly to a herbal cigarette. Sat down and closed my eyes. With my back to a massive bank of speakers. Very strange experience.

Only counting those where I was a member of the audience, rather than tech crew or similar:

A heavy metal battle-of-the-bands that I accompanied a uni friend to in the spirit of procrastination over some tedious lab report.  It was mostly noise, and therefore guaranteed to send me to sleep.  I was woken up in time for the band with the best hair.  Better than Laplace transforms.

I also accidentally went to a Blur gig at short notice that I mostly don't remember, so maybe that one too?

Otherwise, I've been to relatively few gigs, and usually because I cared enough to stay awake.

Ive just remembered one.

Mars Volta at some big venue in Manchester.

I'd been to see the Chemical Brothers in the Apollo the night before, which may have had some bearing.

I don't think I've fallen asleep at a gig where I was a punter, but I have often taken well-earned kips between Doors & Loadout.  Notably under a piano behind the bass bins at Cutlers Hall, and in the Drapes Store, Sheffield City Hall. 

I did fall asleep at every panto I was taken to as a kid.  Normally during the slushy love song bit.

A couple of the supporting cast at Fairport Convention's Cropredy jamboree, August 4th 1979.  It was a lovely sunny day and, having moved south only a couple of months before, I was amazed to bump into a school friend from Lancashire in the queue for the Theakstons Old Peculiar, so one thing led to another....

(I sobered up woke up in time to enjoy the main attraction though  :thumbsup:)

The Who at the NEC in around '88-89. Because they were miles away, I was seated and it was old man music. Oh look, is he still doing that arm windmill thing? Spare ticket job, didn't have to pay. Could've stayed in and watched TV.

Hawkwind in the early 90s because I'm a lightweight when it comes to drink & drugs.

Don't remember falling asleep at any other gigs.

I might also be guilty of this....

Went to a bar in Chicago where a superb R&B band were playing. Unfortunately I was severely jet-lagged and simply nodded off  :(.
