I think it would be very much along those lines!  It's certainly not what he would have called "painterly"!

I realise that courtroom sketches aren't meant to be on the same level as a Titian or van Dyke, but that one's so rough that I can certainly imagine Sewell rather archly enquiring if said sketch had been scrawled by the same elephant whose work he'd disparaged on an episode of That's Life in the 1990s.

Maybe, but I just couldn't imagine his plummy tones enunciating that the sketch must have been done, for example, by a masturbating chimp using its non-dominant hand...   :demon:

Slight influence of German Expressionism, suggestion of multiple viewpoints might indicate a familiarity with Cubism.
