Wheelbuilding data for Deore LX FH-T660 rear hub
« on: 23 July, 2009, 10:53:53 am »
I want to build up one of these hubs 3x36h onto a Mavic A719 rim.  Spocalc and the Swiss DT site have the dimensions for the rim, but not for the hub.  Even the Shimano site doesn't seem to carry that.

Spacycles (from whom I want to buy the components) have been uncharacteristically unhelpful.

Can anyone find me the info I need?

Assuming you mean one of these:

Product

Then just use Shimano rear 135mm on the DT Swiss calculator.

'swot I've done.  I reckon 292 and 290mm spokes.  DT Comp or Sapim Race double butted both sides.

Problem is, the engineer in me wants to know that I've got all the right data.

Once you have the hub, it's quite easy to measure the dimensions accurately enough yourself with a caliper.  That's worth doing because databases can indeed be wrong.

The Mavic calculator and hub diagram is useful if using a Mavic rim:

www.tech-mavic.com - login: "mavic-com", "dealer"

(I trust Mavic's rim data; rims are not so easy to measure).
