Hmmm...I will reserve judgment  ;D

My mate Laura is also in the Dr Who Xmas episodes, playing Katherine Jenkins's less pretty sister  ::-)

Well we've had welsh people in it. And Kylie. Not sure this is breaking particularly new ground.

Oh I see  ;D

She is rather special. (And although I don't listen to her style of music, she's clearly pretty flippin good at it).

A bit high maintenance and not a proper opera singer, but yes.

She irritates me in the same way Buble does.

But in my opinion, she is not a good singer. That nasal sound in her voice is deeply unattractive.

So far as I am concerned she only came to prominence because she's better to look at than to listen to.

Besides, I loathe the domination of the anthems at rugby internationals. It's up to the crowd to sing or not as the case may be, not some mega-powered Valiant-style amplification system.

Strange looking bird. KJ's head is out of proportion to her body.

Maybe she'll be the Celeb Walk-On Of Boe?

I didn't know who Katherine Jenkins was. So I googled her and clicked on an image of her wearing a black dress.

What opened was a page of photos of topless young women.

Not a good thing to do at work.

Katherine Jenkins has a nice voice. I don't mind her. It's  when they start calling her an opera singer that I start wincing. She isn't in the same league as a properly trained opera singer. A female Russell Watson.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

They shouldn't. She isn't and in a radio interview I heard her say that she does not consider herself an opera singer.

I heard that too. Doesn't stop them though. The problem is that there is no easy category they can drop her in. She isn't pop, rock, jazz or folk so she must be an opera singer.

She has a nice speaking and laughing voice, and entertains old biddies and dirty old men.  What's wrong with that?

Personally, I don't care about how good her opera singing is as I don't like opera singing (apart from Pavarotti on Miss Sarajevo).

Easy Listening?

(Which is probably a sub-category of Pop, if you had to put it anywhere. Almost everything except Classical and Opera can be squeezed into Pop!)

I think she calls herself a Classical singer  :-\

One of the cattiest comments to have come from my sister was about Katherine Jenkins. They were at sixth-form college in Swansea and according to my sis she did not look as good as she does. She said 'they have done an awful lot of work on her'  :demon:
