Terrific effort from India to draw the third test against the Australians.  And without Virat Kohli, too.  Especially good to thwart the much-vaunted fast bowling attack of the Aussies, which managed one wicket only, on the final day.  Looking forward to the decider.

I think the Indians might be a bit disappointed. It did look as if they were going for the win à la Ben Stokes. It might of course be the best way to play the Aussies in that sort of situation - they don't resist the pressure so well when they have to fight from a winning position!

The Test against Sri Lanka looked pretty good, until England started batting...

I just noticed that they were playing. I find it virtually impossible to imagine. It's 4°C here, we had 25.5mm rain overnight and are expecting rain all day today. It's as gloomy as it can possibly get.

Unless you'd watched any of it (I'm saved by not having Sky).

It wasn't a case of England taking wickets more like Sri Lanka gifting them to England.

I'd say that was a lucky move!  You might have amputated your hand if you'd left it till they'd started.  Their opening bowler beginning with 'E' seems to have worked out Sibley and Crawley - in less time than it took to work it out!  We need to open with Bess and Leach, I think.

I hoped that would happen, but thought realistically, it wouldn’t

It's hard to over-estimate this achievement of India's.  They have recovered from a 36-all out innings in the first test to win the series with a record last innings chase at a ground no visitor has won on for over 30 years.  And the Australians had all their main players firing pretty well.  And India were virtually a second XI.  Mind you, I think India usually win in Australia but I need to check that.

I think there may be questions in the Australian parliament; the government may even fall!

NB  Warning - this is NOT a predictor for the next Ashes series!

Live test cricket on the TV!

I'm struggling to process good news when I come across it.

It's OK. I've realised that a decent collapse will get me back on track.

Took me a moment but I'm looking forward to it now.

But no proper TMS as its on talk sport. I love TMS and it helps get me through some dull days on tod in the office. I know they might do the cricket social but that's no where near as good

Sorry probably should have spoiler warned that one. Rather gutted. I do love TMS. Even stuck with it for world Cup final back in the day.

I watched today's morning session. Root and Stokes v Bumrah and Ashwin on a pitch starting to show signs of disintegration.
Gripping stuff.

I watched the last session.  555 is a good score.  Unfortunately, I think India could make a thousand on this pitch (they average nearly 50 down to number 7, while England only have Root over 40, I think).  I think Channel 4 are making a good job of this - and I like the shots of the beach!
