It sounds as though England let one slip. I haven't seen it - presumably the game was available on television somewhere/how. It doesn't sound like much of a spectacle, with only the one try, but it does appear to have been tense.

Early season shake-down for the Black machine.  They were poor, England played out of their skins.  The machine won.  That about sums it up.
