I think the average age for PBP in 2007 was 49.6.
There you are, you're just coming of age!
H
I must be maturing just nicely. It smells like it at the end of a long ride.
But I've been Audaxing for over 15 years and am still only a whippersnapper at 33.
But 50 isn't too old. Jack Eason didn't start untill he was in his mid 60s. He rode two PBPs, several BMBs and got a 3 continents 1200km SR series and was ACPs Randonneur of the Millenium in 2000. He's slowed down a bit since then. He is a bit old now in his mid 80s.
And as for the cancer, as has been said, it didn't do Lance Armstrong any harm if you look at his 7 TDF victories. We even had a bloke with only one leg* ride an SR series.
Kevin Hickman, who rumour had it, worked in a brewery.
Making hops.
Sorry, I just
had to.
