I went to Lebanon in the 90s. I've never seen anywhere so shot to pieces. Buildings with rounded corners etc.

Yes, that's mentioned in the programme.  I read  "Pity The Nation" by Robert Fisk ages ago.  Not a lucky country.   :(

Friends of mine have a lovely apartment in Beirut. Very quiet neighbours though owing to the fact that shells passed through the apartments either side. Apparently the neighbours  weren’t home though.

Tonights entertainment was the first episode of "Anna Karenina".  A BBC adaptation from 1978.   My god!  The stick on whiskers !

I've an unread copy of the book somewhere.

Eric Porter plays Karenin in "Anna Karenina" and also played Count Bronowsky in "The Jewel In The Crown".

Prom 58: Public Service Broadcasting – This New Noise
20:00 Tue 30 Aug 2022 Royal Albert Hall
Retro-futurist rockers Public Service Broadcasting perform This New Noise: a joyously eclectic, album-length celebration of 100 years of BBC Radio, told with visuals, soundscapes and a little bit of help from the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

Just fantastic. This will appeal to many YACF types. Rethian plummy voices and archive footage.
I cannot see it on iPlayer but it must come on there soon.

We’ve just finished watching a Walter Presents offering, “Hide and Seek” a police procedural from Ukraine. Excellent.

Bloody wasn't on on Tuesday, because of Too Much Sport. Tonight's edition was Tuesday's, a day late. Presumably we'll either get two on one day later this week or they'll push Friday's to Saturday.

We watched the first of the new Blue Planets. My goodness, the anthropomorphism and tear-jerking music is utterly appalling.

I think I may be a bit late to the party, but Mrs Legs was away in Italy last night so, having weighed up the alternative options of doing some calcs for work, or a Zwift session, I settled on an evening on the sofa in my pyjamas with a bottle of Hobgoblin, some wasabi peanuts and The Capture (Series 1 Episode 1, obvs).  I think I made the right choice.

The Capture

Not-quite-normal police procedural. Took until about the 3 episode to decide what was actually going on.

First episode of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared. Two characters named for myself and Mrs P. That's a bit weird.

We started watching Crossfire because previewers said it was interesting. We watched episode 1. The night before last we watched what was labelled as episode two. Last night we started watching episode three. It was exactly the same as episode two. So we realised we had missed out the middle episode and not noticed. It was that good.

We did this so you don’t have to.

I caught the last half hour of that. It was somewhat turgid, Could you tell me how the ex copper came to be in the possession of an ancient shotgun and ammo during the siege please. I really cant be arsed to watch all the first episode to find out.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

A hotel manager had two shotguns in in his office to shoot rabbits. They were in some kind of cabinet, but I couldn’t tell you what kind. Nor what colour the rabbits were.

I wasn’t really that bothered about how the copper’s husband came to have a serious back injury. I assumed he had been shot in episode two. Whereas a review revealed that he had fallen off a balcony whilst trying not to be shot. In episode two.

I didn’t really get how two young brothers, one of whom was shot dead, could keep a hotel complex that big at bay. Maybe I overthought it.
It is simpler than it looks.

If you like anime and cyberpunk, give Cyberpunk: Edgerunners a go.

Action, dark and bloody. Borrows heavily from William Gibson.

The Boys, S3 on Prime.

i love how in some ways they have dodged some really grim stuff from the comic; then at other times they have upped the ante.
