Just waiting for the last run of samples to come off an analyser so that I can tidy up and head home, on-call now till tomorrow morning

edit: someone has just left another couple of samples - another 1/2 hour before I get home for lunch

It's 5.45 a.m. in Phoenix and, after having fallen asleep at 5.30 p.m. yesterday, I'm awake and feeling a lot better - the cold seems to have subsided somewhat. I'm waiting for Mr R to wake up, so we can go and get some breakfast and hit the road. It's off to the Grand Canyon today, via Montezuma's Castle National Monument and Sedona.

Feeling very happy indeed after a most wonderful afternoon in the company of BentMikey, his Mum and MIL. Sad to see them leave though.

I now feel warm, happy and ready to snuggle up on the sofa in my jim jams.

Being sneaky.

My family of dullards have a number of bottles of spirits (or spurts if you have the misfortune of being in Norfolk as I do right now) and I'm just about to pour myself a massive tubmbler of all of them! (each one only has about 1" taken off the top) The reason being that they'd think I was a piss head¹ if I took my required volume from only one source - so I'm gunna have to mix 'em up!

Edit: As I had to do this in the dark, I have a problem. I seem to have included vinegar in my concoction and judging by the viscosity - extra virgin olive oil too!
