Firefox 3, Vista and Tiny type on yacf
« on: 06 July, 2008, 07:54:08 pm »
I upgraded to FF3 last week.
It seems I can't now magnify 1pt type to a size I can read it by keying Ctrl +.

My smileys also seem to get fuzzy pixellated edges when magnified.

I didn't have this before. Have I gone wrong somewhere?
How can I rectify matters?

Ctrl-+ and Ctrl-- in FF3 behave differently to previous versions of Firefox, in that they magnify everything, rather than just changing the text size. If you want it to work the old way, you can go to View > Zoom > Zoom Text Only.

I don't know why any of the text wouldn't be magnified though. Could you supply a link to an example please and I'll take a look?

I prefer to set a minimum font size:

Tools -> Options -> Content Tab -> Fonts & Colours section -> Advanced button

Set Minimum Font Size to 9.

I always hit the reply button, then you see the text at normal size in the quote.

I know I can do that, or highlight, copy & paste into Notepad but I'd like to be able to magnify the type where it sits.

I can't, for the life of me, find any of the posts that caused the problem

so I thought I'd try one of my own   ;) ;)

FF3 does not appear to magnify past a certain point, whereas I think previous versions allowed unlimited magnification.

This copy of Firefox 2 under XP seems to allow 21 different levels of magnification, beyond that it doesn't get any bigger or smaller.
Actually, it is rocket science.

I find it's enlarging all text except that that's been sized.
